First I would like to thank Tsuru and others for creating in my opinion the best mod for Diablo 2. It revived my interest in this wonderful game, so I decided to contribute something and made images of several new items in ES. I'm sorry for saying so if anyone is offended, but many of them looked little off considering overall great quality of mod.

  • Obsidian gems look too similar to diamonds. I often mixed them up in stash.
  • I took liberty of making new blemished gems so they look more consistent with vanilla ones.
  • Better body parts of Griswold, Radament, Treehead and Hephasto.
  • New gem can.
  • Other items, from left: can opener, rerolling orb, randomize stone, socket donut and green version of it, soul and green version of it.
  • Arm weapon(forgot name). My impression of it was that it looked like someones severed arm in stash. My version looks more like a weapon.

This is how it looks like in game:

New Item Images V2

New version bring new R5 items(Crystal Can, Adventurer's Pack) as well as retouch Gem Can and Steak. Changes of previous version are still there except of Gem Can.

  • Slightly smaller Gem Can than in previous version.
  • Crystal Can in same style.
  • Adventurer's Pack and Steak.

Feel free to use it in this or any other mod. I'm open to suggestions and comments but remember that I'm by no means proffesional artist :).

Thanks - Dacus

  • Thank you Tsuru and Easytough for your kind words :). I'm glad you like my work and want to add it to ES. As for Battering Arm, now I get the idea. I should have known it's from Bleach since I am a fan of it :P. About swords that you mentioned Easytough, I will look to it tomorrow and see what can be done. You also mention that cartoon-like steak would be better, but to be consistent with rest of images in game shouldn't it be more "renderlike"? -- Dacus? 07-04-2007 (Wed) 22:11:49
  • I think the first on the list would be Desert Sword (Elite Scimitar), Rapier (elite Sabre) and Okrist (elite Falchion). Also take a look at Gladiator Blade, Arcane Sword and Titan's Dagger. For armor, Titan Gauntlets could be a little improved, and if you could make Crystal Boots look like they are actually made of glass, that would be great.
The smaller cans look much better, thank you, but I'm not sure about the steak image. Somehow when I think of steak the first image that comes to mind is the steak in Tom and Jerry cartoon with a characteristic shape of a T-bone or a rib-eye with the 'eye' in it. :) If you could just enlarge the old image a little and add the 'eye' that would work. Google 'steak clipart' for inspiration.
Anyway, whether you decide to improve more images or not, thanks for the contribution. I wish I was any good at this. -- Easytough? 07-04-2007 (Wed) 19:12:24
  • The only image that doesn't fit is, the one of Battering Arm (the name is a pun of Battering Ram) which you wear like a long glove (inspired from this), and your image looks like a prosthetic limb. So I like to stick to the original image. -- tsuru? 07-04-2007 (Wed) 16:10:52
  • Thank you for the help. All images look very nice. I've just released R5B, so I'll incorporate the images in the next version. -- tsuru? 07-04-2007 (Wed) 16:03:43
  • Thank you for your suggestions. Looks like I will have to make new crystal can as well :P. What swords precisely do you mean. I remember one axe(ancient or sth?) caught my eye that may need some work. -- Dacus? 07-04-2007 (Wed) 09:22:11
  • I checked the images in game. Everything looks great. I have only one suggestion: could you make the gem can image just a little bit smaller? It hardly fits in 1x1 space. -- Easytough? 07-03-2007 (Tue) 17:53:14
  • Wow. These images look great. Gem can, orb and donuts look more like 3D images which is great. I am two hands for using these instead of the current ones. I like the old Battering Arm though, the concept is that it is worn over character's arm and this one doesn't look like it. Dacus - good job! maybe you could improve the images of certain swords. Their images were created even before Blizzard introduced their own elite items, but many of those images are a little off. -- Easytough? 07-03-2007 (Tue) 15:16:34
